file Specification for Camai Printing

The following specifications ensure a standard of quality for Camai Printing and its clients during the printing process. Camai Printing assumes no responsibility for reproduction of materials that do not meet the following standards.

We accept the following file formats for printing:

• Adobe InDesign - (submission must include all fonts and images used in the layout)
• Quark XPress - 7 or earlier (submission must include all fonts and images used in the layout)
• Illustrator - (submission must have all fonts outlined, images embedded and saved as EPS)
• Photoshop - (submission must be in CMYK, must include all fonts used in layout, and must be in printable resolution - 300 ppi or higher)
• PDF - from any application (according to guidelines below)
• Image Formats - We accept (in order of best quality) PDF, EPS, TIFF, JPEG, BMP but prefer PDF format. (TIFF, JPEG & BMP are poor formats for text and may appear slightly fuzzy in print)

Word & Publisher files are not considered camera-ready. Submission of these formats will require additional adjustment time and may result in inaccurate colors on the final piece. Please contact us before submitting Word or Publisher files.

PDF file specifications:

• Acrobat PDF Compatible 5.0 Version or higher
• No OPI comments allowed on PDF (Images may drop out with OPI comments)
• All fonts and images must be embedded.
• All images must be 300 ppi, minimum
• Color images should be in CMYK format. Black and White images should be in Grayscale format. Do not submit images in RGB or Index Color as these formats are intended for screen display and not printing.
• Do not use ICC Profiles
• PDFs must be composite documents (No separated plates, please)

Submission methods:

• Email - Files 10 meg or less in size can be emailed directly to your sales representative.
• Upload to our FTP - All information necessary to gain access to the ftp site should be provided by your sales representative.
• CD, DVD, or Flash/jump drives - Dropped off in person or mailed to:
